ALTERA is Tectonica’s Local Situation Awareness System (LSAS) for the BOXER 8×8 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle. The system uses visual technologies to provide vehicle crews and operators with improved situational awareness by enabling them to see their surrounding environment by day and by night while remaining protected under armour.

Local Situational Awareness System
Tectonica developed the Local Situational Awareness System (LSAS), called ALTERA, for Rheinmetall’s BOXER Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle. ALTERA uses visual and audio technologies to provide vehicle crews and operators with improved situational awareness while remaining protected under armour.
The system brings together critical vehicle functions in a single open-architecture system, including a driver camera system, panoramic viewing system, video recording and access for the driver and passengers to imagery from the gunner’s and commander’s displays.
Crews can record reconnaissance missions and conduct after action reviews. Instructors and safety officers can also monitor training from the passenger compartment, and imagery can be made available to the Battle Management System.
